More About 6x19 Galvanized Wire Rope EIPS IWRC (Steel Core)
6 x 19 wire rope is a general purpose steel rope that's widely used in the many industries, including marine environments, dredging, excavating and logging. Common applications for 6 x 19 galvanized wire rope include mooring lines, winch lines, chokers, and skylines. The actual rope construction is 6x 25, with 6 strands/25 wires per strand, for a great combination of both flexibility and wear resistance.
The grade of steel used in our 6 x 19 galvanized wire rope is known as EIPS, meaning Extra Improved Plowed Steel. EIPS wire rope has roughly 10% more strength than regular IPS. An independent wire rope core ( IWRC ) provides added strength, reduces the amount of stretch; IWRC wire rope also provides more resistance to heat. A galvanized surface offers extra corrosion resistance over a typical bright wire finish. It does not offer any spin-resistant properties.
